Service Tips For Pumps
Difficulties Probable Cause Remedy

insufficient Flow Clogged filters – clogged suction lines Flush filters & replace
Air in the suction lines that are loose unions, elements, take out & blot
Low oil level or pump worn out. tighten all unions in
suction lines, check oil
level.

Insufficient Pressure Too weak to bring oil to pump check out the internal
Relief valve bad parts & relief valve parts

Chattering or Vibration Air in lines. cycle pressure in system
in the system Coupling may not be lined up properly by opening & closing by-
valve. Correct the align-
ment & that should fix it

Pump Noises Intake line stopped up Pump needs to take in oil
or it will collapse

air leak in pump intake lines To see if it is leaking
pour oil all over unit and
listen for any sounds that
are different when it
operates. And if it needs
tighten up your joints.
