In this discussion today we will show you how to disassemble a fixed displacement motor.

Disassembly Procedures for a Fixed Displacement Motor

The first thing you need to do is take off the shaft seal.
Place the motor on a work surface with the end cap up. Take off the four hex head screws (using a 3/4″ hex wrench) that retain the end cap to the housing.
Remove the end cap with the valve plate.
Take off the gasket from the housing. Be careful removing the valve plate from the end cap.
Lay the motor housing on it’s side and take off the cylinder block kit from the housing.
Remove the piston assemblies and slipper guide from the cylinder block.
Units that are equipped with “pump” cylinder block assemblies, take off the slipper guide retainer (with splined washers on certain units), the slipper hold down pins and the pin retainer from the cylinder block.
Previous units equipped with “motor” cylinder block assemblies do not incorporate a separate slipper guide retainer hold down pins and pin retainer.
