This has an optional by pass valve that lets you move equipment a short space, so that you don’t have to run without the prime mover running. On an “U” class, you can add a screw in the valve that lets you open and connects both ends of the pump circuit and fixed motor is made to free wheel. You should have the valve closed when you operate it. It will reduce the heat build up and will greater effect on the over all job.

Make sure you put clean fluids so the inlet filter works at the greatest capacity to filter out debris so the system will run correctly.

The reservoir should be at 5/8’s of the charge pump flow (gals. per min.) and the least it can be is 1/2 of the charge pump flow.

The inlet port for the charge pump needs to be higher at the bottom and covered with solution. Your return port needs to be at the farthest end of the reservoir to give best dwell time for the fluids in the reservoir. The fluid that is left needs to clear below the fluid level.

If you have an open reservoir, the air breather must work correctly to prevent contamination from the air particles.

To retain the transmission temperature, you may need a heat exchanger. It will need to be put in the lines of the returning fluid that go to the reservoir. Your heat exchanger is suited to handle 25% of the highest input dissipating and horsepower for this transmission.
